Terms of Service
Plain-language version. Effective: October 20, 2026. QuizStride is in beta.
1. About these terms
These terms are between you and QuizStride. By creating a QuizStride account you agree to them. QuizStride is open to any parent or guardian in Canada and the United States, and is currently in beta.
2. Who can use QuizStride
- Any parent or guardian located in Canada or the United States who is at least the age of majority where they live can create an account. QuizStride is not offered in other countries.
- Children use QuizStride only through their parent's account. Children do not create accounts and do not give an email address.
- You must give true information and keep your password private. If you add another adult to your family space, you are responsible for telling them; they can manage quizzes, children and saved attempts, and only you can remove them.
3. Your family space
- Each family has its own private space. You see only your own family.
- You can export or delete your family's data at any time.
4. Quizzes you upload (user-generated content)
- You own your quizzes. Uploading does not transfer ownership to us.
- You promise (you warrant) that you wrote the quiz yourself or have the right to upload it, and that it does not break anyone's rights or any law.
- Licence to QuizStride. You give QuizStride a non-exclusive, free licence to host, store, copy and display your quiz as needed to run the service for you, and, only if you choose to share it, to make it available to other QuizStride users. The licence ends when you delete the quiz, except for backup copies kept until the scheduled deletion (see the Privacy Policy).
- No copied school or textbook material. Do not upload copies of textbooks, workbooks, teacher handouts, worksheets, tests, answer keys or any other copyrighted material you do not have the right to share. Write your own questions in your own words. Facts themselves are free to use.
- Content rules. No personal information about children (no full names, photos, schools, addresses, birthdays or locations) or about anyone else. Nothing harmful, hateful, sexual, violent, bullying, illegal, misleading or unsafe for children. No advertising, spam or links to other sites. Keep it suitable for children.
- Private by default. Every quiz is private to your family. It is shared only if you choose to share that specific quiz, and you can make it private again at any time.
5. Reporting, moderation and takedown
- Report button. Every shared quiz will have a Report button for unsafe content, content about children, or suspected copying.
- We may review content, hide or remove it, limit sharing, or close an account that breaks these terms or puts children or the service at risk. If you think we got it wrong, write to hello@quizstride.com and we will look again.
- Canada (copyright "notice and notice"). If a copyright owner sends us a notice about a quiz, we pass it on to the uploader and keep records, as the Copyright Act requires. Send notices to hello@quizstride.com.
- United States (DMCA-style process). A notice of claimed infringement should include: the work you say was copied; where the quiz is on QuizStride; your name and contact details; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not allowed; a statement that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorised to act for the owner; and your signature. We may remove the quiz and tell the uploader, who can send a counter-notice. We close the accounts of repeat infringers. Designated agent: hello@quizstride.com.
- Child safety. If you see content that puts a child at risk, report it right away to hello@quizstride.com.
6. Using QuizStride properly
- No attempts to see another family's data, break the service or guess passwords.
- No automated scraping, bulk uploading or flooding. We use rate limits and may block abuse or spam.
- We may pause or close an account that puts the service or other families at risk.
7. Privacy
How we handle personal information is in the Privacy Policy. In short: no ads, no ad trackers, no selling data, and parents can export and delete.
8. Quizzes are practice, not advice
QuizStride is a practice tool. Scores are a guide, not a school grade. Quizzes written by other users are not checked by us for accuracy and may contain mistakes; a parent should look at a quiz before a child uses it.
9. No payments, no marketplace sales
QuizStride is free. Payments, paid listings and selling quizzes are not supported.
10. Availability and changes
The service is provided as it is, and early versions may change, pause or end. We will give notice and a way to export your data first where we reasonably can. We may update these terms and will tell parents before important changes apply.
11. Limits on responsibility
QuizStride is free and provided as it is, during the beta and after. To the extent the law allows, QuizStride is not responsible for indirect losses or for quizzes written by other users. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer law where you live.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute about these terms or QuizStride will be decided by the courts of British Columbia. This does not take away any right you have under the consumer protection laws of the place where you live.
